Think Beyond The Empty Drive
When the vehicle has finally gone, the empty space feels like the end of the job. In practice, proof after vehicle handover is what lets you close it properly. The proof does not need to be complicated. It needs to show what happened clearly enough for you to find later.

Photograph The Moment If Practical
A photo of the car on the recovery truck can be useful. It shows the vehicle leaving and may capture the registration, truck or collection setting. Take it safely, without standing in the road or getting in the driver's way.
If the car is collected in poor weather or from a tight lane, do not force the photo. The receipt and messages matter more. But where it is easy, one quick picture can support the rest of the file and remove doubt about whether the vehicle was actually taken.
Save The Receipt Properly
If you receive a paper receipt, photograph it straight away. Paper can get wet, oily or lost in the house. If the receipt is digital, save the email or message rather than leaving it buried in a thread you may delete later.
Check that the receipt links to the car. Registration, make, model, date, buyer name, collection reference or amount can all help. A receipt that only says vehicle collected is weaker than one that identifies the actual vehicle.
Tie Payment To The Vehicle
Payment proof is strongest when it sits beside the quote and receipt. Save the transfer confirmation, amount, payment reference and buyer message. If the payment reference includes the registration, even better.

Include The Address Story
If collection happened from a different address, write that down. Many cars are stored away from the keeper's home: at a garage, a friend's land, a farm building or a parent's driveway. The record should show where the vehicle left from and who was present.

Keep It All In One Place
The simplest system is one folder on your phone or computer named with the registration. Put the quote, receipt, payment proof, collection photo and messages there. If you prefer paper, print or write a short note and keep it with the receipt.
Do not rely on scattered screenshots. Proof is only useful if you can find it. Once the file is together, the handover becomes easy to reconstruct: vehicle, buyer, payment, collection time and address. That is enough for most owner questions after the car has gone.
